What it is with San Francisco? From the late 60ies to this date, that town is an epicenter of excellent psychedelic bands. Granted, Sleepy Sun does originate from Santa Cruz, California, but I guess the forces of psych-rock were too strong and the band had to relocate to Psych-Town.

Formed in 2005 under the moniker Mania, the band changed its name to Sleepy Sun in 2007. They self-released their first album Embrace in 2008, but a year later (after performing at All Tomorrow's Parties in England) Sleepy Sun signed with ATP Recordings and their debut was re-released through the label in 2009. Their new album Fever is scheduled to be released on June 1st.

Lord is the second song from their debut and while it may not be the perfect representation of the band's work, it does show them in their most nostalgic, mellow light.
