Espers, Caroline and Others

Wait, what year is it?

It's 2010 and this is Espers, a band formed in Philadelphia in 2002.

There's a thing called psych-folk revival and of this revival I know almost nothing about, but when I stumble upon a band that evokes my most cherished Fairport Convention (--click that link and prepare for days of reading), I am all ears.

Espers started out as a trio, but, as one can see from the pic above, they evolved into a sextet of artists professionally trained to quench your psychedelic folk-rock thirst.

They debuted in 2004 with a self-titled effort, followed by The Weed Tree in 2005 where they covered a fine selection of tunes such as The Durutti Column's "Tomorrow" or "Flaming Telepaths" - a song by the one and only Blue Öyster Cult. Two more albums followed - II and III.

My original intention for this relax fix was to post a song "Caroline" of their latest album from 2009, but why don't we just make it relax fixes with Espers.
